Doctor Denied Burial

One of the top stories of the day is that of a Doctor Denied Burial at Kilpauk cemetery.  The Doctor in question is Dr. Simon Hercules was the managing director of New Hope Hospital located at Poonamallee High Road at Kilpauk opposite to KMC.

Doctor Simon was a Neuro Surgeon. It is said that he contracted Covid-19 while treating patients. I am not sure why a Neurosurgeon has to treat a Covid patient. It is told that he contracted the disease by the month of March and he was getting treated when he lost his life to this deadly virus.

Media projects that the doctor's body was taken to burial to the Kilpauk Cemetery where the localites attacked the team of doctors who came to cremate the diseased doctor.  Also it is told that the localites were scared that the virus would spread from the diseased if buried in their locality.  One of the doctor from the doctors team called police for help and police arrived and arrested 20 people(Which was posted by Chennai city police in twitter) and helped the team of doctors to cremate the diseased in a nearby place.

Protesters who were fighting says that the doctor is from Royapuram and his family cemetery is at Royapuram, there is no reason to bring him here for burial. Also they were questioning that, what is the necessity to carry out the cremation at 1 a.m in the night.  Around 60 people were arrested and taken to K4 police station it seems.

Only the concerned will know what is the truth.

On the other-side some one who wanted to create rumours has said that Kilpauk Cemetery is a part of CSI churches and Dr. Simon is a Roman Catholic(RC)  and hence he wasnt allowed there.

TO BE HONEST SUCH RUMOUR IS BULLSHIT AND THE ONE WHO CREATED IT IS A PIECE OF SHIT.

Cheers!!!!!

Post Number 100

This is my Post Number 100.  It is a journey that started way back in 2008 when my friend insisted me on writing.  Started initially to spend time and it became a lot more fun than I expected.  I have developed many friends here and it was fun visiting their page and the relationship that we developed was a beautiful one.  Today when I see, many of those blog friends have stopped posting. It might be because of their busy schedule in day to day life.  This was a new world to me and it cultivated me the habit of reading a lot.

I take this moment to thank Ramanan, Guru, Vijay, Venkatesh, Ela, Rayees, Gul, Nuchu, Shimmer, Thanamoi and Shimmer. A big big thank you to all for all those fun

Covid - 19 (Corona Virus)

Covid - 19(Corona Virus), the phenomenon that stopped the world and locked it behind doors.  The Origin of the virus is a big debate as when I write this post, it might be an accident that happened in China, it might be a planned biological attack by China or it might have involved USA too.  Where ever it might have come from, the impact it has on this world is too much to handle.

The virus was identified in Wuhan by Novmber 2019 and it started to spread fast.  Before we could understand what it is, Europe was badly hit, especially Italy which was followed by Spain and France.  UK was not far behind.  USA smartly closed doors for the flights from China, but it was too late as the virus by then has found its feet to Italy and through Italy to USA.  One big issue with Covid-19 is that the virus has no treatment and no vaccine.  If the affected person doesn't have sound immune system, it might end fatal.

The virus spreads through droplets and was confirmed not Airborne.  The only way to prevent it from spreading is to maintain social distancing.  China had fantastic control over its people and enforced a forced lockdown for 2 months and got out of the disease.  Other countries by the time they could understand about lockdown and enforce it, there were 10s of thousands of cases got reported.

To find out live updates on number of cases across the world click https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

When the world went under lockdown risking their country's economy, China announced that they have controlled the virus and were getting back to normal life.  More than that China started its business and tried to buy out companies around the world that were in loss due to Corona.  This irritated almost all countries.

India found out that Hydroxychloroquine helps in the treatment of Covid-19.  Hence it started mass production of this medicine.  Many countries placed order as this medicine found helping patients recover.  India decided to offer helping hand and is exporting medicines to other countries.  China is looking to make use of this situation to do business where as India is offering helping hand which has gained massive respect for India.

Hope a cure for this virus is found quickly and help the world to get back on its feet.

A 6 year dream has become a reality now...

A 6 year dream has become a reality now as I witnessed my first ever ISL match live.  I have trained at the JN stadium day in day out, but it looked very different with its latest setup as Chennaiyin FC's home ground. It was on 20th December when Chennaiyin FC Hosted Kerala Blasters.

It was Nostalgia for me going to the stadium, but i was made to run on the road as hardcopy of the ticket has to be obtained from the box office which is at the indoor stadium which is located at the other end of the stadium from my entry gate.

By the time I entered the stadium, Chennai has already struck a goal and intensity at the ground was electrifying.  Since I selected my seat next to the Visitors stand, tensions were high when Kerala scored the equalizer. A moment of brain freeze from the referee saw Chennaiyin score their second goal which sparked a controversy and the referee overturned the decision which sparked an outrage from the home crowd.  Moments after the incident, Changte found the back of the net and put Chennai in front, the crowd went crazy.  Chennai scored once more in the first half through Valskis and ended the half at 3-1.   Second half was goal less and less with intensity but ended with a second Yellow to Sabia.

Chennai won the match and it was  a good first outing for me at the ISL.

A 3 Year Dream Finally Got Fulfilled

One thing that could satisfy my soul is Sports.  Any game that we witness in person is going to give that satisfaction and real time game feel.  I have been to International Cricket matches, IPL, Ranji Trophy, Irani Trophy, Club level Football, and International Hockey.  Indian Super League and Pro Kabbadi League are the missing ones. Wanted to see Chennaiyin FC play for almost 5 years now and the 3 year dream finally got fulfilled last Saturday by watching Tamil Thalaivas play in the Pro
Kabbadi League.

Kabbadi was always played in the backwaters and there wasn't much awareness about it as there wasn't much media coverage.  Thanks to PKL, this game has attained a global reach.  The intensity of the game is high and I feel it is one of the best way to reduce one's weight by just watching the match.

I badly wanted to watch PKL match live and wasn't missing an opportunity this year as I was eagerly anticipating the Chennai leg of the tournament.  It was scheduled to start on 17th of August and I planned to go to have this live experience.  It was almost a full house on the day, but got disappointed as the security guards didn't allow me to take my backpack inside.  I had to call my friend Prabhakar who lives near to the stadium and gave my bag to him and went inside.

I was all the more excited as I am going to watch Ajay Thakur live in action(He is my first Hero in Kabbadi). I waited patiently for 1 hour for the game to begin as I was an early bird.  To be honest, Kabbadi has a great fan following in our city, many families came to witness the match.  Cricketer Dinesh Karthick was in the house and was adding excitement.

All the wait was worth watching stars of the game on the mat, but sadly the team I support(Home Team) lost the match poorly.  Still Watching great players like Ajay Thakur, Rahul Chowdary, Manjeet Chillar, Ran Singh, Pawan Sherawat, Rohit Kumar was great.  Chennai was denied a point when Ajay was jersey pulled, but that is what sports is all about.  If its not your day,  everything goes against you.

Second match was very exciting as it ended in a tie between Bengal Warriors and Dhabang Delhi and that too with a review on the last raid.  Great players like Maninder Singh, Prapanjan, Nabibaksh, Ranjith, Jogindar Narval and  Naveen Kumar(Young Sensation) were on the mat and it was nice to see them in action.

Over all it was a great experience to watch a Kabbadi match live with so much excitement.  Will share few pics and videos here.

India Becoming A Sporting Nation

Its almost 72 years after we started taking care of ourselves which actually is a kind of downhill progress.  Sports in particular was really great during the pre-independence days.  It started to wind down as the days went.  Main reason for it is the lack of importance and lack of funding.  One example that I can quote is the condition of Indian hockey.  They were invincible's during the era of Dhyan Chand.  Today we are struggling to even qualify for the Olympic Games, one of the important reason being the change over of playing field from mud to synthetic turf.  Since our govt didn't provide enough fund to develop the game, it is on the decline.

Today the conditions are changing and importance of sport is understood well and effort has been put to develop the same.  Starting with Cricket, We were so dominant that people started talking about India as the team to beat in the CWC 19', but for a 45 minutes of mad batting, the world cup would have been ours.

Indian Football has seen a gigantic rise.  There is a league called I- league which has been played for years with no great improvement.  The introduction of ISL has attracted the crowd and it has become a showpiece event.  Thanks to Sunil Chettri's Tweet which brought us together as fans and now the urge is there for the team to win and the fans to support the team even when they loose. They have moved forward with AFC cup last year and was so close to entering the third round.   Hence Indian football is on the rise.

Athletics is always a see-saw ride as it depends mostly on the physique of a person than the skill.  Lack of nutrition, lack of proper coaching and infrastructure hamper the development of athletes.  Still many athletes who work on their own interest has garnered the world stage.  It will take minimum 10 years for India to compete strongly on the world stage in athletics.

Kabbadi has always been our sport.  We have always dominated the game and the introduction of Pro Kabbadi League has elevated the game to the next level.  Iran as a country used this league to develop their national team which finished second in the world cup.  Modernization of Kabbadi has done a lot of good to the game and India being the hub is just an icing on the cake.

Tennis has become a sad story for our country as no strong name has emerged after the legends Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza.  Hope it develops soon and we can see our tri-colour at the grandslam event.

India Becoming A Sporting Nation is a work in progress. Hope it becomes one very soon

Cheers!!!!!
