Miss You Daddy

Its been more than 1000 Days since i posted here.  Too many things happened during this 1000 days and kept me completely busy that i had almost forgot the address of this page.  Funny isnt it.  Once i used to be obsessed with this page checking it multiple times, and today to the extent of forgeting the address.

When I last posted, most of the world were still behind closed doors. I was somehow hobbling around to push and start my business again.  Damn, never thought i would get so busy that i would forget myself. Business was doing well and picking pace and just when i felt that life was back on track,  the biggest tragedy of my life hit me when my father left me for heavenly abode.

Man that was new,  i havent experienced anything like that and i wasnt prepared enough(No one is).  Even though we all know that we have to face this day,  we are always underprepared.  Worst day of my life, what was worse is,  people expect the male child to always be normal even if losing a father gives you the worst trauma.  Battling it all alone was the most difficult part.  During all my worst times, dad was always there by my side, but now the situation is different,  I am missing my dad.

But me being me, was able to stand up by myself but the sting is there till date and will be there forever.

                        Miss You Daddy

Not going to sign off my usual way, as this post is something emotional.

End of the Tunnel????????????????

Its been 22 months since Indians were introduced to the concept of lock-down.  Still we are not sure about what is a normal life as, covid hasn't left us yet.  It was said that Lock-down was the only way to break the chain and eradicate the dreadful disease.  It is also seen that the disease is a life threatening one and has taken so many lives.  Even after seeing all this, we are still at the beginning.  What does this indicate??  Are people not scared of the disease or the Govt is not capable of controlling the people or is the disease in itself is a hoax?

Earlier we didn't have the vaccine and people were scared to death, then Vaccine was invented and then it was said that it can only reduce the effects but cannot stop the disease in itself. Also it was said that the spread will be reduced, Still we had the second wave which was caused by delta variant.  By the end of 2021, most of the adults have been vaccinated in India and still the Omicron variant is spreading so rapidly, in fact faster than the delta variant.  If vaccine was believed to reduce the spread to 10% of the spread caused within un-vaccinated people then why is Omicron spreading rapidly??  What is the missing link here??  Are the people being fooled here???

A Software businessman is continuously speaking about the updates of health industry and he is predicting it perfectly.  Is this a big level scam???    Hospitals and Pharmacies are full and are earning big but they are not sure of what is the current health status but they keep doing their business.  Common man has suffered  with physical health, finance and mental health as well.  What else is waiting for the public to face???

Will this Omicron be the last variant that forces us in to a lock-down or do we still have more??  Europe is ready to remove their masks and accept covid as it is.  Is that the way to approach covid or should we stay indoors waiting for the disease to end??  Where is the End of the Tunnel?????????????

Doctor Denied Burial

One of the top stories of the day is that of a Doctor Denied Burial at Kilpauk cemetery.  The Doctor in question is Dr. Simon Hercules was the managing director of New Hope Hospital located at Poonamallee High Road at Kilpauk opposite to KMC.

Doctor Simon was a Neuro Surgeon. It is said that he contracted Covid-19 while treating patients. I am not sure why a Neurosurgeon has to treat a Covid patient. It is told that he contracted the disease by the month of March and he was getting treated when he lost his life to this deadly virus.

Media projects that the doctor's body was taken to burial to the Kilpauk Cemetery where the localites attacked the team of doctors who came to cremate the diseased doctor.  Also it is told that the localites were scared that the virus would spread from the diseased if buried in their locality.  One of the doctor from the doctors team called police for help and police arrived and arrested 20 people(Which was posted by Chennai city police in twitter) and helped the team of doctors to cremate the diseased in a nearby place.

Protesters who were fighting says that the doctor is from Royapuram and his family cemetery is at Royapuram, there is no reason to bring him here for burial. Also they were questioning that, what is the necessity to carry out the cremation at 1 a.m in the night.  Around 60 people were arrested and taken to K4 police station it seems.

Only the concerned will know what is the truth.

On the other-side some one who wanted to create rumours has said that Kilpauk Cemetery is a part of CSI churches and Dr. Simon is a Roman Catholic(RC)  and hence he wasnt allowed there.

TO BE HONEST SUCH RUMOUR IS BULLSHIT AND THE ONE WHO CREATED IT IS A PIECE OF SHIT.

Cheers!!!!!

Post Number 100

This is my Post Number 100.  It is a journey that started way back in 2008 when my friend insisted me on writing.  Started initially to spend time and it became a lot more fun than I expected.  I have developed many friends here and it was fun visiting their page and the relationship that we developed was a beautiful one.  Today when I see, many of those blog friends have stopped posting. It might be because of their busy schedule in day to day life.  This was a new world to me and it cultivated me the habit of reading a lot.

I take this moment to thank Ramanan, Guru, Vijay, Venkatesh, Ela, Rayees, Gul, Nuchu, Shimmer, Thanamoi and Shimmer. A big big thank you to all for all those fun

Covid - 19 (Corona Virus)

Covid - 19(Corona Virus), the phenomenon that stopped the world and locked it behind doors.  The Origin of the virus is a big debate as when I write this post, it might be an accident that happened in China, it might be a planned biological attack by China or it might have involved USA too.  Where ever it might have come from, the impact it has on this world is too much to handle.

The virus was identified in Wuhan by Novmber 2019 and it started to spread fast.  Before we could understand what it is, Europe was badly hit, especially Italy which was followed by Spain and France.  UK was not far behind.  USA smartly closed doors for the flights from China, but it was too late as the virus by then has found its feet to Italy and through Italy to USA.  One big issue with Covid-19 is that the virus has no treatment and no vaccine.  If the affected person doesn't have sound immune system, it might end fatal.

The virus spreads through droplets and was confirmed not Airborne.  The only way to prevent it from spreading is to maintain social distancing.  China had fantastic control over its people and enforced a forced lockdown for 2 months and got out of the disease.  Other countries by the time they could understand about lockdown and enforce it, there were 10s of thousands of cases got reported.

To find out live updates on number of cases across the world click https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

To find out live updates on the number of cases in India click India https://www.covid19india.org/

When the world went under lockdown risking their country's economy, China announced that they have controlled the virus and were getting back to normal life.  More than that China started its business and tried to buy out companies around the world that were in loss due to Corona.  This irritated almost all countries.

India found out that Hydroxychloroquine helps in the treatment of Covid-19.  Hence it started mass production of this medicine.  Many countries placed order as this medicine found helping patients recover.  India decided to offer helping hand and is exporting medicines to other countries.  China is looking to make use of this situation to do business where as India is offering helping hand which has gained massive respect for India.

Hope a cure for this virus is found quickly and help the world to get back on its feet.

Cheers!!!!!

A 6 year dream has become a reality now...

A 6 year dream has become a reality now as I witnessed my first ever ISL match live.  I have trained at the JN stadium day in day out, but it looked very different with its latest setup as Chennaiyin FC's home ground. It was on 20th December when Chennaiyin FC Hosted Kerala Blasters.

It was Nostalgia for me going to the stadium, but i was made to run on the road as hardcopy of the ticket has to be obtained from the box office which is at the indoor stadium which is located at the other end of the stadium from my entry gate.

By the time I entered the stadium, Chennai has already struck a goal and intensity at the ground was electrifying.  Since I selected my seat next to the Visitors stand, tensions were high when Kerala scored the equalizer. A moment of brain freeze from the referee saw Chennaiyin score their second goal which sparked a controversy and the referee overturned the decision which sparked an outrage from the home crowd.  Moments after the incident, Changte found the back of the net and put Chennai in front, the crowd went crazy.  Chennai scored once more in the first half through Valskis and ended the half at 3-1.   Second half was goal less and less with intensity but ended with a second Yellow to Sabia.

Chennai won the match and it was  a good first outing for me at the ISL.

A 3 Year Dream Finally Got Fulfilled

One thing that could satisfy my soul is Sports.  Any game that we witness in person is going to give that satisfaction and real time game feel.  I have been to International Cricket matches, IPL, Ranji Trophy, Irani Trophy, Club level Football, and International Hockey.  Indian Super League and Pro Kabbadi League are the missing ones. Wanted to see Chennaiyin FC play for almost 5 years now and the 3 year dream finally got fulfilled last Saturday by watching Tamil Thalaivas play in the Pro
Kabbadi League.

Kabbadi was always played in the backwaters and there wasn't much awareness about it as there wasn't much media coverage.  Thanks to PKL, this game has attained a global reach.  The intensity of the game is high and I feel it is one of the best way to reduce one's weight by just watching the match.

I badly wanted to watch PKL match live and wasn't missing an opportunity this year as I was eagerly anticipating the Chennai leg of the tournament.  It was scheduled to start on 17th of August and I planned to go to have this live experience.  It was almost a full house on the day, but got disappointed as the security guards didn't allow me to take my backpack inside.  I had to call my friend Prabhakar who lives near to the stadium and gave my bag to him and went inside.

I was all the more excited as I am going to watch Ajay Thakur live in action(He is my first Hero in Kabbadi). I waited patiently for 1 hour for the game to begin as I was an early bird.  To be honest, Kabbadi has a great fan following in our city, many families came to witness the match.  Cricketer Dinesh Karthick was in the house and was adding excitement.

All the wait was worth watching stars of the game on the mat, but sadly the team I support(Home Team) lost the match poorly.  Still Watching great players like Ajay Thakur, Rahul Chowdary, Manjeet Chillar, Ran Singh, Pawan Sherawat, Rohit Kumar was great.  Chennai was denied a point when Ajay was jersey pulled, but that is what sports is all about.  If its not your day,  everything goes against you.

Second match was very exciting as it ended in a tie between Bengal Warriors and Dhabang Delhi and that too with a review on the last raid.  Great players like Maninder Singh, Prapanjan, Nabibaksh, Ranjith, Jogindar Narval and  Naveen Kumar(Young Sensation) were on the mat and it was nice to see them in action.

Over all it was a great experience to watch a Kabbadi match live with so much excitement.  Will share few pics and videos here.

India Becoming A Sporting Nation

Its almost 72 years after we started taking care of ourselves which actually is a kind of downhill progress.  Sports in particular was really great during the pre-independence days.  It started to wind down as the days went.  Main reason for it is the lack of importance and lack of funding.  One example that I can quote is the condition of Indian hockey.  They were invincible's during the era of Dhyan Chand.  Today we are struggling to even qualify for the Olympic Games, one of the important reason being the change over of playing field from mud to synthetic turf.  Since our govt didn't provide enough fund to develop the game, it is on the decline.

Today the conditions are changing and importance of sport is understood well and effort has been put to develop the same.  Starting with Cricket, We were so dominant that people started talking about India as the team to beat in the CWC 19', but for a 45 minutes of mad batting, the world cup would have been ours.

Indian Football has seen a gigantic rise.  There is a league called I- league which has been played for years with no great improvement.  The introduction of ISL has attracted the crowd and it has become a showpiece event.  Thanks to Sunil Chettri's Tweet which brought us together as fans and now the urge is there for the team to win and the fans to support the team even when they loose. They have moved forward with AFC cup last year and was so close to entering the third round.   Hence Indian football is on the rise.

Athletics is always a see-saw ride as it depends mostly on the physique of a person than the skill.  Lack of nutrition, lack of proper coaching and infrastructure hamper the development of athletes.  Still many athletes who work on their own interest has garnered the world stage.  It will take minimum 10 years for India to compete strongly on the world stage in athletics.

Kabbadi has always been our sport.  We have always dominated the game and the introduction of Pro Kabbadi League has elevated the game to the next level.  Iran as a country used this league to develop their national team which finished second in the world cup.  Modernization of Kabbadi has done a lot of good to the game and India being the hub is just an icing on the cake.

Tennis has become a sad story for our country as no strong name has emerged after the legends Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza.  Hope it develops soon and we can see our tri-colour at the grandslam event.

India Becoming A Sporting Nation is a work in progress. Hope it becomes one very soon

2 sides of every story

Every story is read from the author's point of view, in real life it's not the same. Every issue has 2 sides and the scariest of all is that both will be true from the angle it's seen. So whom to blame?  It's just the law of maturity or impatience to use ones brain during a situation.

A person who is said to be level headed will think in a one-dimensional way when he gets agitated.  The one who can withstand that disturbance and still be levelheaded will win many people in this world. Even that will take the negative track if it's overdone as people will start taking advantage.  It's all about how we see it.  Until you agree to someone, you are the best in the world. The moment you start questioning and disagree, the game is over.

Cheers!!!!!

14 years and still counting

14 years and still counting from the day since I last burst crackers.  When I rewind it was so much fun back then. Diwali had it's charm which is totally missing these days.  I always had enough crackers to burst every year.  The eagerness to open the box of crackers on a Diwali morning simply cannot be matched by anything.  From Atom bombs to sparklers and flower pots, every part of Diwali is so nostalgic.   By 2002 the interest and love for crackers were diminishing and by 2003, it was all over.

If I could sit back and try to find a reason for abandoning crackers, there is only one thing  that I could point to.  It was when I started my higher secondary and the love for science started to blossom.  Today if I say that bursting crackers would cause pollution, it might  look very weird.  But back then it made sense, the noise and smoke created by crackers is enormous. To indulge in something that is spoiling our environment wasn't comfortable for me and that too after opting to Study science. From that day I stopped bursting crackers. To my surprise, I haven't missed it at all.

Today when I see people go crazy after crackers and spend so much on it, I can feel happy for the kids who enjoy it and really get annoyed when adults say that they do it for the welfare of the industry and the people who work there.  If one really worries about the welfare of those people then they surely won't want them to do such a risky job.  One thing has become pretty evident is that education makes people to talk smartly to defend their actions instead of understanding what is right and what is wrong.

The stress from job and the increase in number of television channels has changed the life we live and it's evident with festivals. During my childhood we saw families getting together and preparing lots of sweets and offering prayers while the kids had immense fun on the streets.  Nowadays, sweets are bought from shops, no family unions and starring at TV has become the norms of every festival.

To conclude, the colour of Diwali is fast changing and I don't think next generation would have fun we had in our childhood as far as Diwali is concerned.  Hope it changes for good.

Cheers !!!!!

World gets together once in 4 years

One has to wait 4 years to see the entire world join together and compete hard at the Olympics.   The level of competition and the spirit of Olympic Games is worth the wait.  2016 saw the first time Olympics making it's appearance in South American soil. What a period it has been for Rio. Two years back it was the football world cup and now the Olympic Games. Brazil had a lot of difficulties in hosting the event, but they did a wonderful job.  The Olympics had it's share of controversies, some Beautiful proposals and some fantastic upsets.

Rio saw the dominance of America in the events, but many of my favourites failed to live up to the expectation. I expected Michael Phelps to finish his career on a high repeating what he did at Beijing, but he failed.  I wanted to see a tough fight between Alexandria Raisman and Mustafina Aliya at the gymnastics mat, but it was the teenager Simone Biles who stole the show.  Badly wanted Brazil to get the Gold in football and how well they did it.  Expected India to take the podium in hockey and they disappointed yet again. Sindhu in badminton was a surprise package and she became the first woman silver medalist from India. Focus was on Vinish Poghat who injured her leg and Yogeshwar who lost to Mandakarnan, but the medal came from Sakshi Malik.

There was one athlete who stormed the nation with the Produnova vault,  (Front hand spring double somersault) Deepa Karmakar. A flat footed girl finish 4th in her debut Olympics is no mean feet. Then we had this sad story of athletes not getting water and proper medicines. Special mention to Bokhanlal who had a splendid debut Olympics in rowing. Abhinav Bindra missed the medal in shooting by a whisker and so did Sania and Rohan in tennis. Indian archery disappointed us once again.

Three  of the most celebrated athletes didn't disappoint at all. The sprints saw Bolt rewrite the record books with his 9th Gold medal. Then it was David Rudhisha who got the Gold. In the 800m for men and the ever jubilant Mo Farah got the 5000 and 10000 double.  It was a shocking moment when Michael Johnson's record was broken by a South African. What an Amazing 400m run that was.  Van kerk is the name.

Overall the Indian performance wasn't the greatest, but it's a country who has a work in hand which is in process. There are lots of promise and positives, hope India does better at Tokyo 2020.

Cheers !!!!!

World cup Kabaddi

15 days, 12 teams, 1 cup, India's gift to the world. Kabaddi world cup held at transtadia at Ahmedabad. This world cup is a huge success as it had a broad coverage by media and nations from all 6 continents participated in the tournament making it more special.

The first match saw a huge upset where South Korea defeated the dream team India. The tournament was wide open and the permutations and combinations started working. Iran on the other hand started demolishing teams at will. They were clear favourites of the tournament next only to India. Meanwhile Bangladesh who had so much promise fell agonisingly short of the semi finals.

One of the huge stories of the world cup is the emergence of team Kenya. This is a country who took up Kabaddi just two years back and mom they were contenders for the semifinal. This world cup also saw a team full of students who reached the semifinal stage with so much promise. The Thailand team lost to Iran and then to India in the semifinals.

Japan, Poland who beat the mighty Iranians and England showed some promise whereas Australia, Argentina, America where just learning this game.

The finals were set up between India and Iran which was expected.  Indians who were thrashing opponents until then where skeptical in their raids, thanks to that man Fazal Atrachali, Indian defense was on the back foot right from the word go and substitutions were flying to keep the combination right. But it was Iran who inflicted the first all out and they lead the finals during half time by 18 to 13.

Second half is what all India had to do something to lift the trophy and in band Ajay Thakur who was clinical and claimed a super 10. Manjit Chillar was replaced as he was having an off day, with Ajay's brilliance and an important raid from Nithin, India inflicted an all out on Iran and then the Indian defense came to the party. With already a super tackle to their name,  Mohit and Surendar were lethal and coupled with Sandeep the beast, Iran found it difficult to match Indian momentum.

Ajay brilliantly had a two pointer which saw Fazal Atrachali and Meraj Sheik warm the bench, soon India inflicted another all out and the lead was in to double figures.  Rahul chowdery who is the poster boy of Indian Kabaddi struggled to match the intensity of a final, but his mistakes were covered up by the rest.

In the end, India were victorious  with the score line reading 38-29,thus stamping Indian authority on its gift to the world.

India the World Champions in Kabaddi

Humanity?? Really??

It's been a long time since I posted something.  Life has moved a lot during these days.  Most striking thing that happened during this time is the Chennai floods.  What a situation it was when the heavens opened up big time and sent people running for cover. Many lives lost, many got stranded on streets without shelter and food.   Then the world saw something that is special about this great city. Humanity took up the challenge posted by God. Boy! I must say that it was a superb Defensive skill exhibited by the people of Chennai for which they even got the best citizen of India award.  There have been many calamities before and for the first time world saw a natural calamity which brought more volunteers than victims an the entire world had it's jaw down.  Almost all youngsters of Chennai were on streets running around to save mankind. There was a post on facebook which read that our late president Abdul Kalam would have been the happiest person looking at the effort put by our youth. It is also a time when Chennai saw many of its immigrants leave the city and get back to their native for safety.

It was such a worrying act that so many left Chennai for safety, what stood out was the guts of Chennaites who joined hands to save their city. Many celebrities took themselves out to help the needy and it inspired many more to come out. It was such a pleasing sight till the floods occupied our city. Once the water started to recede, the ones who ran out for safety came back to Chennai to get back to their work. Then started the rebuilding work, now started the problem, people started to charge way more than standard rates as the demand was high. Few were doing a good service and few were awfully greedy on earning money using the situation. It was pathetic.

Chennai floods taught me two things, one is no one can defeat Chennai when they are together. Second is human beings are the worst in this world and they all are opportunist. World was not this bad certain decades back, but demands and so called modernization has made a huge dent to human morality. Hope thins change for good.

Cheers!!!!!

Sports 360 degree

Sports 360 degree is the phrase that should be used to describe the current trend in India.  All the focus has now shifted to sports and it looks a little tiring now with too many events stacked up.
It all started with the IPL in the year 2008 which was a grand success and it has reached season 7 this year.  Following the success of IPL similar kind of tournament has started to take centre stage as the Pro Kabbadi league was also a great success with a great fan following. Now it time for Football as the first edition of Indian Super league is reaching great heights and by the end of the season, we might see a Tennis competition.

Its good for sports but it tests the fatigue level of the spectators.  Lets hope that the section of crowd stick to their favourite game and encourage budding sportsmen in India.

Another version of MSD

This WT20 saw another version of MSD. World saw MSD as a hard hitting batsmen, quick handed Wicket Keeper and Captain cool. Now the time to see MSD the human being.

This incident happened when India were at a training session before the final when there was a Pakistani Cricket fan from Chicago who's wife is from Inida, his name is Mohammed Bashir. MSD spotted him as he saw this person before the Champions trophy match between India and Pakistan. Bashir told MSD that he didnt get ticket for the final even after flying from Chicago to Bangladesh. MSD arranged for a pass for this fan and also offered him fruits as Bashir was standing there for quite sometime.

Bashir gave an interview before Indo-Pak match stating that he was there to support is motherland Pakistan and also his wife's motherland India. After meeting MSD he said that he is a Pakistan fan and for the day he became a fan of MSD. At least one cricketer from a generation from India shows that humbleness is the way that leads them forward.

 Cheers!!!!!

World T20 2014 - A different Story altogether

Its known that the World T20 is being played at Bangladesh in the Indian sub-continent. This is the 5th edition of the tournament. The previous ones were won by India (2007 South Africa), Pakistan(2009 England), England(2010 West Indies), West Indies(2012 Sri Lanka). In each of the previous editions, the batsman dominated the tournament with some big scores and the bowling just did a support role. This year at the WT20 2014, the Spinners are having a huge role. They are simply dictating terms and making life tough for the batsmen. Biggest talk inside the cricketing fraternity is that the players from the sub-continent are not good players of fast bowling on bouncy tracks. In this tournament their noses have been broken as these fast track players are proven to be kids in facing decent(If not quality) spin. This is a big boost for the format as it was said to be a batsmen oriented format and the bowlers are just to make numbers in the team. In this world T20 its "A different Story altogether" Business end of the tournament is on. Semifinal 1 Srilanka Vs West Indies Semifinal 2 India Vs South Africa Cheers!!!!!

Pressure, Pressure and Pressure

Its pressure, pressure and pressure in the air in the city of Mohali as it prepares for most celebrated match at the cricket kumba mela (INDIA versus PAKISTAN at the World Cup). Whenever India plays Pakistan, the whole nation watches it like a war. It always happens due to the tension at the Indo-Pak border.

The players never take that much tension and they enjoy the game with the pride of playing for their country in their heart. Looking at the way both the teams reached the semi-final there is a lot of difference. Pakistan qualified to the Semis mostly depending on their bowling. India on the other hand needed ammunition in both their departments (batting and bowling). Indian fielding got improved as the tournament progressed to the knockout stage which is a boon to the team.

Indians played THE match of the tournament in the quarters against Australia which needed a gutsy performance and steel nerves from the Indians to seal the match against the team which was the the champions for over a decade.

The politicians seek an opportunity to revive the good relationship between India and Pakistan. At Mohali there are 4000 police men on duty to protect the cricket teams. Mohali has been announced as a No Fly zone till the match and the tickets are sold out as expected. All the hotels are booked for a radius of 25km from the stadium. Both the country's prime ministers are set to watch the match together.

About the match, the pitch is expected to be a belter(Batsmen friendly) which will be a ploy to expose the weakness in the Pak batting line up. The world cup history says that India has won all its games against pakistan in the world cup so far which gives a 100% Win - loss record.

The match is set to begin at 14:30 hrs IST. Tendulkar eyes his 100th international century and India look forward to keep their 100% record against Pakistan in WC intact. To say the least, the team with steel nerves will emerge victorious.

"ALL THE BEST TO BOTH THE TEAMS"

Cheers!!!!!
